Arario Museum Dongmun Motel II (아라리오뮤지엄, 동문모텔II) in Jeju will hold a retrospective exhibition of the late artist Gu Bon Ju as part of the 2017 Jeju Biennale. This is Jeju’s first international biennale and it will take place over three months from September.

Gu Bon Ju (1967 ~2003) was a genius sculptor who is known as one of the greats of conceptual sculpture in Korea. The exhibition, which is being held in memory of the fifteenth anniversary of his death, will feature carved artworks depicting both weary old fathers and the young of today. His vivid artworks are portrayed realistically, humorously and sometimes sarcastically.
